After the Northridge Earthquake in 1994 left extensive structural damage to the UCLA Center for Health Sciences, the University seized the opportunity to create the Ronald Reagan-UCLA Medical Center an innovative medical facility designed to meet the evolving needs of 21st century patient care, new medical technologies and teaching.
