BMW UNVEILS FIRST 5S DEALERSHIP IN CHINA

BMW offered a preview opportunity today to approximately 100 members of the press and dignitaries at the firm’s Beijing Xingdebao 5S Dealership, the largest automobile dealership in China and the first showroom in the Chinese auto industry to implement the concept of sustainable development with LEED Gold certification anticipated for Q2 2012. At the beginning of 2011, BMW took the industry lead in introducing the 5S Dealership concept, adding the 5th “S” — “Sustainability”— to the traditional 4S concept (sale, survey, spare parts and service). With a total area of about 22,000 sqm, Pei Partnership’s design for the Beijing Xingdebao 5S Dealership has incorporated sustainable features throughout, reinforcing BMW’s corporate commitment to sustainability and setting the standard in green building design, engineering and construction.
