Since joining Pei Partnership Architects in 2000, Ms. Un-Peng Chan has worked on a wide range of project types throughout the United States, Southeast Asia and China. These projects have included office headquarters, hotels, high-rise commercial, residential towers, art museums, science centers, hospitals, master plans and corporate interiors.Ms. Chan’s projects at Pei Partnership Architects include: Q1 / Fortune Center – Qingdao Taishan Real Estate Development, a 242-meter high tower project with a mixed-use program of retail, office and hotel components in Qingdao, China and Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange headquarters, a 120-meter financial institution in Zhengzhou, China. Some recent projects includes managing the design team for a multi-million-dollar conversion of a five story condominium building in West Chelsea in New York City.

Ms. Chan often travels to China to oversee construction administration of projects which are currently under construction. She completed the design and construction administration of the Macao Science Center which was inaugurated by China’s President Hu Jintao in December 2009. She also led the design and construction effort for the Beijing headquarters of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, the country’s largest bank.

A Registered Architect in the State of California, she is an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). She holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from California Polytechnic State University. Prior to joining Pei Partnership Architects, Ms. Chan worked for the Jerde Partnership in Los Angeles specializing in retail and entertainment complexes in Europe, Asia, South America and USA. At the beginning of her professional career in the USA, she was part of the corporate interior design team at Gensler in Washington, D.C.
